The second foursome – the stage of existence
Leo
Leo marks the start of the second series of four Signs.
Through the germinating end of the seed, the tiny plant now peeps above the ground. It erects its first vertical stalk. This will grow into the central stem of the future mature plant.
As the second Fire Sign, Leo is again focused outwards. It is in Leo’s nature to be obeyed. We can attribute the following core concepts to Leo: centrality, pivot and axis, leadership, backbone, heart and all that is done whole-heartedly, children, falling in love, warm-heartedness, royalty, generosity and cordiality, playing, egocentricity, the center, also in the center of attention.
Virgo
From this central stem, the plant will grow branches and leaves. Through photosynthesis, they will provide the plant with nutrients. This is a salutary biochemical miracle that we are still not able to copy in a synthetical way.
Virgo is the second Earth Sign. In its inward focus and in its many leaves around the central stem, we may recognize the following characteristics: differentiation, functionality, humility and helpfulness, chemistry and laboratory assistant, knowledge of products, analytical thinking, expert, profession, eye for detail and hygiene, food and diets, ailments, sickness and health, commissioned work.
Libra
After the first six Signs, Libra is the first Sign that finds itself opposite an earlier Sign. Libra brings forth what was already invisibly present in Aries, in the germinating seed. Up to this point, all plants are green, but by displaying its flower with its specific color, the plant now strongly emphasizes its unique identity. Not by pressing ahead without regard for its environment, but by expressing itself from within. In contrast to pushing Aries, Libra stands for harmony.
Libra is the second Air Sign. In its outward focus and its flower, we can recognize the characteristics as beauty, being in relationship, harmony and balance. Related to this we find here also justice and jurisdiction, organizing, partners, contracts and opponents.
Scorpio
Inside the flower are the plant's reproductive organs. At fertilization, the pollen that has reached the pistil grows inward, along the style into the ovary. Fertilization takes place and the flower itself, with its attractive perfume, starts to wither.
Scorpio is the second Water Sign. In its inward focus, we can recognize the following characteristics: penetration, sexuality and fertilization, intrusion, examination, polarizing and splitting, destroying and enjoying, denying and rejecting in general, lawsuits, crisis and judgement, war and death, regeneration, the hidden and the secret, occultism.
Instead of the trust of Taurus, we now encounter the mistrust of Scorpio.
Limited but without intention
In this second series of four Signs, we see a differentiation in function as well as a limitation of the radius of action. Yet the process itself remains unfocused. In other words, there is expression, but without a specific aim. Leo can act anywhere as chairman or director and Virgo can offer to help in any circumstance. In the same way Libra can organise when necessary, while Scorpio bij nature will look for the hidden forces below the surface. Yet Leo does demarcate his circle and Virgo's focus on specific tasks implies time restrictions. The same goes on for Libra and Scorpio.
